Aberrant Questions

“The sun is a huge ball of fire”

A lot has been said about climate change and tackling it.

I can rant about how we all owe it to the next generation to clean up our act, why we are a very disgusting species and there is no “Plan B” etc.

But I won’t be doing that. Why? You may ask.

I don’t see how doing that will add anything of value to solve the problem at hand or even just better understand about tackling it. Maybe it will, but I won’t be doing it.

But there’s something that I want to do with this series of newsletters. I’m trying to find out what resources we have and use now, and what would be needed to make the world “greener”. What metals, minerals, chemicals etc it would take to build better alternatives. Which industries might undergo a paradigm shift, which might sink and which might prosper.

Whether we are going to pivot to cleaner alternatives asap, or in 5 years time, or 20 or maybe even 100 years, I don’t know. But I’m trying to find what would it take in terms of resources to build better alternatives. With no biases, with no preconceived notions but one. I’m going to assume that the change to better alternatives is inevitable (otherwise there would be no point in writing these articles/newsletters, tweets).

I’m calling the series “The Clean Bet”.

If these newsletters should do anything to you at all, they should only trigger your intellectual curiosity. It is in your best interests to refer to other sources and do your own research before you put your tangible and intangible resources into play with the info/opinion you receive from these newsletters. If me explicitly mentioning that doesn’t do the trick, I’ll take the help of an anecdote here.

Throwback to when I was ten years old, our science teacher was introducing the topic “Our solar system”. She happened to mention that the Sun was a huge ball of fire. Back then I did not know how yuuuge “huge” was of course. The biggest ball I had seen was the ones used in gymnasiums, so I assumed the sun must the size of the classroom I was sitting in. So, if that doesn’t give you an idea of how big of a stupid I am, I don’t know what will.

So as the saying goes these days… These newsletters/articles are just my opinions, and shouldn’t be taken as an advisory service of any kind.
